Comedian and writer Sami Shah has been profiled in the New York Times and on the ABC’s Australian Story, and has appeared on BBC Asian Network, TEDx, The Project, and a run of shows at London’s Soho Theatre. He wrote and performed a two-part series for BBC Radio 4 – A Beginner’s Guide To Pakistan – and has been on QI with Stephen Fry. In 2013 Sami won the award for Best Local Act at the Perth International Comedy Festival, while his 2014 autobiography, I, Migrant, was nominated for the NSW Premier’s Literary Award and the Russell Prize for Humour Writing. Sami is the author of two urban fantasy novels for young adults called Fire Boy and Earth Boy. With Jacinta Parsons Sami co-presents ABC Radio Melbourne's breakfast program. He lives with his family in Melbourne.
